Privacy Policy
OG Dominoes collects nothing. There's no account, no sign-up, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and we run no server that your games pass through. We never receive any data about you.
- Your name, settings and player key stay on your phone.
- Players at your table see your name and your moves, encrypted between your phones, nearby or online.
- Delete the app and everything it kept is gone.
What stays on your phone
| What | Why | How it's kept |
|---|---|---|
| Player names | Shown at the table. You type them; nicknames are fine. | App storage on this phone |
| Settings | Table type and target score, so you don't re-pick them. | App storage on this phone |
| Player key | Proves your moves are yours in games with friends. It's a key, not an account. | Created inside the iPhone's Secure Enclave; never leaves the chip, never backed up or synced |
Playing with friends nearby
When you host or join a table, phones find each other over your Wi-Fi network or over peer-to-peer Wi-Fi. Nothing goes over the internet.
- Nearby phones see only a 4-letter table code, never your name.
- Once paired, everything between the phones is encrypted. Only the players at your table see your name and your moves.
- Each player's tiles stay hidden from every other phone, including the host's, until the hand ends.
- iOS asks once for permission to use your local network. The app uses it only to find and talk to the other phones at your table.
Playing friends online
Online games use Apple's Game Center to invite friends and carry the game between phones.
- Game Center is Apple's service, covered by Apple's privacy policy. The app uses your Game Center sign-in only to invite friends and to connect to their phones.
- Everything sent between phones is encrypted by the app before it reaches Game Center, so Apple carries only scrambled data: no tiles, names or moves.
- After you and a friend compare your 4 safety words once, this phone remembers that friend's player key and their Game Center player ID, in its own keychain, so the words can be skipped next time. It never leaves the phone.
- We still receive nothing: there's no OG Dominoes server.
Camera
The camera turns on only while you scan a host's join code, and only after you allow it. Nothing is photographed, recorded or sent anywhere.
Children
The app collects no personal information from anyone, children included.
Your choices
- Change your name at any time on the start screen.
- Deleting the app removes your names, settings, player key and remembered friends from the phone.
- You can turn off local network or camera access in Settings → Privacy & Security at any time. Playing on one phone still works.
Changes
If anything here changes, we'll update this policy before that version ships and say exactly what changed.
The design behind these promises, including how the encryption and the sealed deal work, is reviewed by outside security experts before release.
